Agriculture Biotechnology The branch of agriculture that deals with the utilization of biology / biological systems along with engineering to solve problems and make, modify or improve products as well as organisms for agricultural upliftment.
Agriculture EconomicsThe applied science of agriculture that deals with the integration of economics into agriculture through every aspect such as production, productivity, marketing, resource optimization, statistics and consumption of produce for a balanced agricultural demand and supply.
AgronomyA branch of agricultural sciences that deals with the study of production, management, utilization and improvement of plants for their use as fuel, food, forage and more is known as agronomy.
Animal Husbandry The rearing of animals domestically for their produce such as: milk, meat, egg, wool and animal waste which contribute to the economic, religious or cultural aspects.
Annual Crops The crops that germinate and produce their seeds, completing their life cycle within a year are known as annual crops. For Example: corn, wheat, rice, pea.
ArboricultureThe branch of agriculture that deals with the scientific study and operational practices of cultivating trees, shrubs and herbs is known as arboriculture.
Aromatic CropsThe crops that are grown mainly for their aromatic properties and can be used in culinary for food flavoring along with production of perfumes and cosmetics. For example: Lavender, Basil, Rosemary, Jasmine, Vanilla, etc.
Biennial CropsThose crops that complete their life cycle in two years, from germinating to producing their seeds and dying, are known as biennial crops. For Example: carrot, cauliflower, cabbage, parsley, onion.
Cash Crops These crops are also known as profit crops. So the plants or crops that are grown for the sole purpose of selling in order to make some profit are known as cash crops. For example: cotton, rubber, coco, tobacco, jute, coffee, tea.
Cereal CropsCereal crops are grasses that are cultivated for their edible grains. For example: rice, wheat, maize, barley, rye.
Climbing crops Those crops that require support to stand are known as climbing crops. These crops creep on the ground in the absence of a support but climbs and stands tall when provided a support. For example: sweet pea, bitter gourd, ivy.
